Ortona Cathedral: This Italian church houses the bones of St. Thomas the Apostle, which arrived in Ortona on September 6, 1258, booty taken by Captain Leone degli Acciaioli when the island of Chios, Greece, was sacked. The Church-certified complete skeleton of St. Thomas was in Ortona when the Portuguese were “discovering” it in Mylapore in 1523.
